The train journey from Florence to Pisa takes one hour and costs ? 10. Trains leave every half hour and no prior booking is needed. If you have booked online, make sure to collect and validate the ticket before you get on the train.
From Pisa Centrale station, the tower complex is a 20 min walk with directions clearly marked along the way.
Undoubtedly, the only thing worth seeing here
is the Leaning Tower. It cannot be described in
words or experienced by reading this, how much
the Tower actually leans. The Torre is not the
only thing in the complex. There are other monuments
namely, Cattedrale, Battistero, Camposanto Monumentale,
Museo dell'Opera del Duomo, Museo delle Sinopie
and Mura
medievali.
Entry to the Cattedrale is free. Entry only to the Torre is ? 15. Other monuments can be visited by paying separate entry fees.
The Torre has 294 steps which have to be climbed
to reach the 8th floor. The tilt becomes evident
as you reach the 4th floor while climbing. The
tower offers a breathtaking view of the complex
from the top. You are allowed to stay only for
5-10 mins on top before starting your climb down.
The total duration of the tour is half an hour.
