UTILITIES
The UK has one of the most competitive utility industries in Europe, with companies and individuals enjoying direct access to a wide choice of providers. The privatisation of all the major utilities in the late 1980s and early 1990s has encouraged each industry to be more responsive, and has led to lower prices for industrial and residential consumers.
